"Stanley performed a True Colors session for my leadership team several years ago. We loved submitting our personality questionnaires in advance and seeing the output in the session. It was clear from the presentation that Stanley is well rehearsed in the different personality types and has a passion for teaching. It was interesting seeing the different types manifested through the leadership team, and most particularly, the gaps in our EMG :) Of the four executives, three were green! Knowing this really helped me understand our diverse communication methods and their continuous desire for data - data - and more data :) Being an orange myself, I have a different way of thinking than most leaders in my chain and doing this exercise ultimately helped me understand how I can better meet in the middle with my peers and leadership. "As a people manager trust is paramount to being successful. What better way is there to connect with the team you manage than by knowing a little bit more about the individuals on the team and knowing how they think? True Colors dives into our thought process and helps us understand one another and how we think. This can be a somewhat complicated tool, if we really think about it, but Stanley makes it all very easy to comprehend and gives solid examples and scenarios to make it clear. While there is something to be said about an individual’s management style, having the True Colors tool in your tool belt makes knowing your team and knowing how to respond and coach each individual all that much easier.
